Ronald McDonald House Hobart© invites you to a fabulous night of "fun-raising" in Launceston with special guests Sam Kekovich & Craig "Hutchy" Hutchison, to be held on Saturday, 23rd August 2014.

Pink and Blue Day

The NTJSA will hold its annual Pink and Blue Day to raise funds for the Cancer Council of Tasmania on 30th August. We encourage everyone to get involved and don some pink or blue on the day to show your support for this worthwhile cause.

As usual several of our club teams will put aside their usual playing strips to wear pink and blue in their matches, on the day volunteers will be collecting donations and the NTJSA will donate a percentage of the gate takings to the cause. We urge everyone to get behind this event and make it a special day.

Determining Ladder Positions

Please note that if your team is in a competition where teams have not played an equal number of games, ladder positions at season’s end will be determined by average points per game (per NTJSA Bylaws). e.g.:

As Sporting Pulse is not able to determine points per game, the NTJSA will announce/release the correct ladder positions at season’s end if required.

NTJSA Announce Exciting New Award!

Tom Strickland Football Scholarship

Tom StricklandNTJSA Soccer Academy

The NTJSA in conjunction with the late Tom Strickland’s family wish to announce the formation of a football scholarship to honour the memory of Tom and the outstanding service he gave to junior soccer in the north of the state.

Tom Strickland was President of the NTJSA for 13 years, coached many Representative Teams and spent many years developing the youth players of the NTJSA.

Tom along with Mano Stivatakis and John McKenna formed the NTJSA Soccer Academy in 2004 and held the position of head coach until his untimely death in 2010. He had real passion for the game and made a massive commitment to the young players he coached.

This monetary scholarship will be awarded to a player between 9 and 12 years of age and will be used to help further their football career.

Our member clubs have been asked to nominate a player whom they feel would be a worthy recipient of this award. The NTJSA committee would then go through a process to determine a winner. All nominees will receive a plaque and gift to acknowledge their achievement. The eventual winner of the scholarship will be announced at the NTJSA’s Annual Dinner.

The NTJSA would like to thank Tom’s children, Neal, Heather and Natasha for supporting this concept to recognise the remarkable service Tom gave to the NTJSA for over 35 years.

Recently Football Federation Australia (FFA) launched the rebranding of small sided football, the exciting new brand is MiniRoos.

The formats from Small Sided Games have not changed with this rebranding, it is a new exciting way for allowing kids to associate with the sport giving it an appealing brand to draw in participants and help them engage in our sport.

Find out more at our MiniRoos page or the MiniRoos web site.
